  • Ramiz Raja by his policies appears to be unaware of the dynamics and necessities of grassroots cricket in Pakistan, says Salman Butt
  • Fifty overs format and longer model of cricket aren’t within the plans of the present hierarchy of PCB, says Butt.
  • Salman Butt says he’s crossing the bounds of interference in points the place he supposes to not.

Lashing out at PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja’s policies, former Pakistan check captain Salman Butt mentioned that the chairman doesn’t know something about junior stage cricket.

On his YouTube channel, Salman Butt mentioned that Ramiz Raja’s policies make it appear he’s unaware of the dynamics and necessities of grassroots cricket in Pakistan.

“In recent times, during school championships, there were players who did not belong to schools and were actually outsiders and yet were playing in the tournament,” he mentioned, including that the 50-over format and longer model of cricket aren’t within the plans of the present hierarchy of PCB as their policies give the notion of being centered on T20s solely.

He claimed PCB is just not selecting the best path for the event of cricket amongst budding cricketers.

“PCB is planning to hold Pakistan Junior League based on T20 format for that age group which has a World Cup of 50 overs in the international arena. There will be only a couple of players who will reach the level of PSL through the Pakistan Junior League,” he mentioned.

He added “Pakistan Junior League will become a reason for the decline of skills and fitness of budding cricketers due to cricket based on four overs only. This will restrict the abilities of budding cricketers who will only prefer the T20 format in their careers later.”

The policies of the PCB chairman appear to be forcefully making an attempt to inject the T20 format into the budding cricketers of Pakistan, he mentioned, including that if Ramiz Raja actually desires to carry a franchise-based match for the U19 stage, it ought to be primarily based on a fifty overs format as a result of there isn’t a T20 world cup on the U19 stage.

Talking about home cricket, Salman Butt claimed Ramiz Raja is just not sharing info with the cricket fraternity by his shows uploaded on the social media platform of PCB.

“[The] PCB chairman claims that every domestic player earns up to Rs5 million annually but that is actually not the complete truth. Only those domestic players will be able to earn up to Rs5 million annually who will feature in every match of every format in a domestic season. However, the truth is that hardly ten players are named in every format of the domestic season.”

“What about the financial future of those players whom PCB does not consider to play all three formats?” requested Salman Butt. He mentioned Ramiz Raja is unable to inform the entire fact to the cricket fraternity of Pakistan.

“Ramiz Raja believes in kingship where no one is permitted to ask him to counter questions, not even press or specialists of that field. He does not want to answer anyone.”

Salman Butt revealed that over the past tour to Bangladesh, the PCB chairman had requested captain Babar Azam to point out him the pitch on a video name.

“The chairman is interfering in the issues of the national team. Is the world’s number one batter unaware of how to do a pitch inspection that a chairman of the board is asking him to have a video call so he can take a look at the pitch for decision making? How would have Babar Azam felt when Ramiz Raja would have asked him for a video call for the sake of pitch inspection?”

“Ramiz Raja is making slaves rather than leaders through such policies,” Salman Butt additional added.
